Oh yeah! Rain, storm, typhoon, cyclone…it only bring one thing: FLOODING GORGEOUS SMORGASBOARD OF THAI CELEBRITY MEN!!! In the above pic, Nadet Kugimiya (seated with eyeglass), Mario Maurer (standing third from the right), model/DJ ‘Benz’ Nipit Hinge (rightmost) and Aum Atichart (standing sixth from the right) were among those famous celebs who posed for this “special” photshooting. “BROMANCE” as defined by Wiki, is a close but non-sexual relationship between two men, a form of homosocial intimacy. Coined in the 1990’s, the term has historically referred to a relationship between heterosexuals, but the term has gained currency in describing such relationships when one of the men is gay. It is also alternately called as, “MAN-CRUSH”.
In the upper pic, both Thai soap stars ‘Ta’ Warit Tipkomuth (left) and ‘Aum’ Atichart Chumnanon are having “fun” under the sun—topless, only in their tight blue jeans. But take a closer look at their hands & arms—BROMANTIC???
How about this second pic above? Try to caption or utter it in Tagalog with a very deep, hallow Cher-like voice: “Bro…papatong nga!”

Remember him? Yeah, that’s Aum Atichart, a very famous soap opera actor slash model here in Thailand. There were also rumors spreading around his “real identity” since day one but he insisted that he’s “str8″ and he even challenged those detractors to show him proof or evidence of their accusation.
His popularity was even a topic at ABS-CBN’s web board: “Which Celebrities Do You Want To Have A Soap Opera?”. nikki_bellefire suggested Aum and another Thai actress, Aff along with Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin in a soap opera together. But this was 3 years ago. Just before the Brapanese Fever came in to the picture in Philippines.

Invited Thai Stars at the Galaxy of Stars party at Dusit Thani Bangkok.

Remember the cocktail party I attended last Friday which I mentioned in my previous blog? Click here to freshen up your memory. It was called, “Galaxy of Stars” organized slash sponsored by Dusit International. It was indeed a night full of stars as Thai Stars were there to greet us at the Red Carpet and for the “Kodak moments”. It was a get-together slash thank you party for agents, event companies (like us), tourism authorities and big corporate companies.
Aside from Aum Atichart (whom I met two years ago at Koh Samed along with another male star), who was the most photographed celebrity of the night, there were also other cute Thai actors, actresses slash models. I’m familiar with their faces (especially those guys) but I don’t know their names. There were also the senior stars who attended to cater to their league. By the way, Aum for those of you who doesn’t know him is one of the hottest male stars in Thailand right now. He has a soap opera and mostly seen in various advertisements in TV or in print. He is also rumored to be gay but he denied it and challenged whoever who can prove to him that he is one of us, show evidence and not just talk. Hmmm. Defensive.
Anyway, I took a picture of Aum with my colleague Som. I didn’t bother as he is not my type. I only cared about publishing it here in my blog that’s why. What I enjoyed that night were my three glasses of red wine, relishing sushi & sashimi, risotto in blue cheese and other mouthwatering treats even though Som & I were unfortunate to bring home any of the raffle draws for the night. At least we took a goody bag containing their hotels’ info & CDs plus a Dusit candle in a nice mini-organza sequined bag to keep us calm.
